Companies Closing Locations Through 2026

Orvis has announced plans to close roughly 70 retail stores across the United States as part of a significant downsizing of its brick-and-mortar footprint. The closures come as the outdoor apparel and fly-fishing retailer responds to weaker in-store traffic and rising operating costs.

Company leadership has said Orvis is shifting focus toward e-commerce, catalog sales, and wholesale partnerships. The brand plans to maintain a smaller number of flagship locations while investing more heavily in digital channels and experiential offerings aligned with its core outdoor lifestyle audience.
